The one-of-a-kind 3TC game has been dealt with another blow with Proteas limited-overs captain Quinton de Kock forced to miss the match. In a press release, Cricket South Africa (CSA) mentioned “unforeseen personal circumstances” for de Kock’s last minute withdrawal from Saturday’s game at the SuperSport Park in Centurion.

Quinton de Kock will be replaced by Mr D Food Kites squad by 24-year-old keeper-bat Ryan Rickleton, with Temba Bavuma taking over captaincy duties.
De Kock isn’t the only one to back-off. Kagiso Rabada, originally named as one of the captains, and Chris Morris pulled out earlier. A brainchild of CSA, the three-team cricket (3TC) game, will be played in Centurion later today (July 18), marking the return of cricket in the country. The purpose of holding the game is to raise funds for the people in the cricket business who have been affected severely due to the unexpected Coronavirus pandemic outbreak.
Three teams, led by AB de Villiers, Reeza Hendricks and Bavuma, will compete against each other in a single match of 36 overs. This is new to us now, isn’t it? Read more about the game’s rules and regulations here.
