Chennai Super Kings registered their fifth win of the season after handing over the loss to the Kolkata Knight Riders by six wickets.
Their win also means Kolkata Knight Riders now have a few chances to qualify for the playoffs starting next week.
Put into bat, KKR posted a total of 172/5 runs with Nitish Rana top-scoring with 87 runs off 61 balls including 10 boundaries and four sixes.
Lungi Ngidi was the pick among the bowlers and finished with 2/34 in his spell of four overs. While spinners Mitchell Santner, Jadeja and Karn Sharma settled for one wicket apiece.
With just two more appearances left in the tournament, CSK batsmen had nothing but a statement to leave before departing from UAE.
Ruturaj Gaikwad opened the batting with Watson and continued with his blistering form from the last innings. He scored ransacked KKR bowlers all over the park in his knock of 72 runs packed with six boundaries and two sixes.
Later, Ravindra Jadeja finished the chase off in his style with an explosive innings of 31 runs off 11 balls and won the game in the final over.
The outcome of the match was more of a setback for the Eoin Morgan led KKR as they slipped out of the top four in the tournament.
If Kings XI Punjab manages to defeat Chennai Super Kings, they will advance into the playoffs with no chances for KKR.
The match between CSK and Kings XI Punjab will take place on November 1 at Sheikh Zayed Stadium.
