Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Wednesday announced side’s upcoming tour to Pakistan slated to be played next year. The board released a tentative date spanning between January 26 to February 14, excluding the quarantine period on the players’ arrival.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also confirmed that Karachi, Rawalpindi and Lahore will be hosting the entire series for two Tests and three T20Is.

This will be the first time since 2007 that the Proteas will be touring Pakistan, will also be one of the SENA nations to tour the country in the recent past.

“The South Africa series will complete the process for full resumption and restoration of international cricket in Pakistan,” PCB director Zakir Khan said.

Pakistan has hosted Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe since 2019 and also staged a successful Pakistan Super League season 4.

The Test series will be a part of the ICC World Test Championship while the T20I series will be South Africa’s first-ever T20I series on the Pakistani soil.

“It’s pleasing to see so many countries making a return to Pakistan – a proud, cricket-loving nation. Cricket South Africa is delighted to be counted among them. As someone who has toured the country on more than one occasion back in my playing days, I know how much passion the people of Pakistan have for the game as well as the love and support that the Proteas enjoy there as a team,” Graeme Smith, CSA Director of Cricket, said.

Second Test: 4-8 February, Rawalpindi

First T20: 11 February, Lahore
