Pakistan’s limited-overs vice-captain Shadab Khan has been ruled out of the first One Day International against Zimbabwe. The ODI series between Pakistan and Zimbabwe is slated to begin from October 30.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed the team’s vice-captain Shadab Khan sustained a leg injury during the intra-squad practice.

The selectors haven’t named any replacement of the injured Shadab as the side goes into their first ODI match after a hiatus of seven months.

The leg-spinner is currently under rehabilitation after suffering stiffness in his left upper leg in Lahore on October 23.

Babar Azam will be leading the side in the limited-overs series comprising of three ODIs and as many T20I match series.

The first match of the ODI series will take place at the Pindi Cricket Stadium and some games in Rawalpindi.

The ODI series will also embark their journey of the World Cup Super League, criteria for the selection in the 2023 World Cup in India.

Coming to Shadab’s injury, the medical team of the PCB is monitoring his recovery status and hopes that he will be back before the second ODI.
