Former Australian spinner Shane Warne has appealed to the Cricket Australia to host the Boxing Day Test against India at Melbourne.
Warne believes that Boxing Day Test should be conducted in its traditional manner and hence it should take place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
There has been a spike in the number of cases in Victoria that also consists of Melbourne Cricket Ground. The series is either slated to begin at the Adelaide or Brisbane after monitoring the situation.
The Indian Cricket Team is slated to play against Australia in a series consisting of Four Tests, three ODIs and as many T20I matches.
Earlier, Cricket Australia had issued a statement on the Boxing Day test and also said that it would release the revised schedule next this week.
However, Warne has appealed to the board asking them to keep the Boxing Day test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. He posted a tweet signifying the importance of the Boxing Day Test and also said why Melbourne should only host the prestigious event.
One of the reports has stated that ”the MCG is expected to be named as the host of the Boxing Day Test despite ongoing fears it may be moved.”
