Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson announced retirement from all forms of cricket on Monday. Already announced his retirement from the international cricket, Watson played across several T20 leagues globally.

He was with the Chennai Super Kings for the 2020 season of the IPL, that exited from the tournament following a dismal show this season.

The right handed batsman will no longer be seen wearing the yellow jersey for the CSK in the upcoming seasons of the mega tournament.

Watson has been one of the most instrumental players for the CSK ever since he joined the side in 2018. He also played a match-winning knock against the Sunrisers Hyderabad and helped CSK win the title.

He played his last match against the Kolkata Knight Riders on October 29 and did not even play in the side’s last match yesterday.

After bidding goodbye to all forms of cricket, the all rounder informed the CSK management saying he would retire from the game.

“Watson was very emotional when he told the CSK dressing room after the last game that he would retire. He said that it was a great privilege for him to play for the franchise,” a source told TOI.

Watson had announced retirement from the professional cricket back in 2018 before joining CSK in the IPL. He had a terrific season and has previously played for RCB and Rajasthan Royals.

In his IPL career, he has played 3874 runs in 145 matches at an average of 30.99 which includes four centuries and 21 half-centuries. Besides, he also bagged 92 wickets in the Indian Premier League.
