SIX vs HEA: The 28th match in the Big Bash League will have Sydney Sixers take on Brisbane Heat on Wednesday at North Sydney Oval. The Sixers have managed to secure 4 wins out of seven matches and thus are sitting at number four on the points table.
After registering two consecutive wins, they suffered a 15-run defeat in their last match. On the other hand, Brisbane Heat is languishing at the bottom of the table with 2 wins in 8 matches.
But the good thing for them is that they secured a win in their last match and that win had only come against the Sixers. Both teams played their last game against each other.
The Heat put in a sensational batting display as they notched a mammoth score of 224 runs in the first innings. Josh Brown played an outstanding knock of 62 runs in 23 balls, while McSweeney was equally brilliant for his stellar knock of 84 runs in 51 deliveries.
For the Sixers, none of the bowlers could make an impact with the bat. In reply, the Sixers kept losing wickets while trying to keep up with the required run rate.
Josh Phillipe (27 off 13) and James Vince (41 off 24) looked solid but couldn’t play big knocks. Jordan Silk raised hope with a stellar knock of 41 off 23 but he too couldn’t play till the end. In the end, the Sixers were bundled out for 209.
It was a valiant effort with the bat but still, Sydney Sixers fell 15 runs short in the end. Heading into the next game, Sydney Sixers would be looking to take revenge for the defeat.
