SL vs PAK 1st Test: The visitors had a great outing during the first day of the first Test against Sri Lanka at Galle International Stadium on Saturday.

After winning the toss, SL skipper Dimuth Karunratne elected to bat first on a typical sub-continent pitch. However, on contrary, the hosts got bundled on 222 runs, after surrendering to the Pakistani bowlers.

The early wicket of Captain Karunaratne shook the Sri Lankan camp as Fernando (35) and Mendis (21) stood on the crease for the rescue.

Angelo Mathews got out on a duck, however, Dinesh Chandimal scored 76 runs as he starred for his side during the first innings. Apart from him, barely any other Sri Lankan batter could significantly contribute to the team total. However, Maheesh Theekshana from down the batting order made a valuable contribution and added 38 runs to the team total.

For Pakistan, Shaheen Shah Afridi remained the top wicket-taker for his side and took 4/58. While Hasan Ali and Yasir Shah chipped in with a couple of wickets each.
