The Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) and former captain of India Sourav Ganguly’s participation in Legends League Cricket have been in speculation. However, Ganguly has not yet confirmed being a part of the second season of Legends League Cricket. He provided clarity a short time after the tournament’s organisers announced in a press release that the former India captain would play in the league.

Ganguly told NDTV: “No, I am not going to be a part of Legends League Cricket. The news isn’t true.”

Earlier in a statement, the tournament organisers said that Ganguly will play in the league. The statement had even quoted Ganguly as saying, “It is going to be a lot of fun playing with other legends.” There was even a social media post on the official handle of LLC, announcing the signing of the BCCI president.

The entire situation has caused a lot of confusion. It would be interesting to see whether the organisers provide any clarification in the wake of Ganguly’s denial of being a participant in the league.
