England spinner Dom Bess has praised his fellow mate James Anderson as the veteran pacer is just two wickets away from a historical milestone.

After the first Test James Anderson received huge criticism following his under-performance at the Old Trafford ground. Despite that skipper Joe Root showed huge leap of faith in the pacer by taking him in the second Test.

Currently, Anderson is on the hunt to complete his 600 wickets in Test cricket for England. He is also nearing to being the most capped player of the country in the white jersey.

Going into the third and the final Test, Anderson was only seven wickets away from reaching his 600 wickets milestone. Anderson had one of the best outings during the third test as he finished with the figures of 5/56. The leading wicket-taker also took his 29th five-wicket haul in the longest format of the game.

Bess praised the pacer by calling him one of the best in the business.

“He’s the GOAT of bowling and England’s greatest” Bess said.

“It’s phenomenal to stand at point and watch him nick people off, hit people on the shins and take as many poles as he does, so consistently.”

“There was chat about a potential retirement (recently), then he comes back and absolutely tears it up. It just shows how good he is.” Bess concluded.

Anderson is the only pace bowler in the list of the highest wicket takers in the history. He is only behind Muttiah Muralitharan (800),  Shane Warne (708) and Anil Kumble (619) in the list.
