SRH vs KKR IPL 2022: The 25th match of the Indian Premier League 2022 will have Sunrisers Hyderabad take on Kolkata Knight Riders at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. After suffering two consecutive defeats in their first two games, Hyderabad has bounced back brilliantly in the tournament. They have won their last two games and would be looking to register the winning momentum.
Hyderabad is coming into this game on the back of an 8-wicket win over Gujarat Titans. Gujarat Titans restricted Sunrisers Hyderabad to 162 runs in the first innings. The likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and T Natrajan picked two wickets each, while Jansen and Malik picked one wicket apiece. Umran Malik has proved to be expensive in all the games he has played so far. He might be dropped in the next game.
In reply, SRH chased down the target in 19.1 overs. Abhishek Sharma and Kane Williamson put on a 64-run stand for the opening wicket. Sharma scored 42 runs in 32 balls, while Williamson managed to score 57 runs in 46 balls. Later, Nicholas Pooran played an unbeaten knock of 34 runs in 18 balls to help the team chase down the score in 19.1 overs.
Kolkata Knight Riders:
Facing them are Kolkata Knight Riders, who have suffered a 44-run defeat against Delhi in their last game. KKR’s bowling unit failed to hit the straps and, hence, Delhi Capitals managed to score 215 runs in the first innings. Pat Cummins has continued to be expensive for two consecutive games. He should look to improve his bowling figures. Umesh Yadav too had a forgettable night with the ball and would be looking to bounce back.
In pursuit of the score, Kolkata Knight Riders were bundled out for 171 runs. Shreyas Iyer scored a half-century, Nitish Rana scored 30 off 20 balls, Andre Russell made 24 off 21 but none of them could play till the end and guide the team home. It will be interesting to see how they play in their next game.
