STA vs SIX: There have been some crazy occurrences in the first game of the 12th season of the Big Bash League (BBL 12). Both the Melbourne Stars and the Sydney Thunder put on a show with the ball and the field in the inaugural game between the two teams.

Even though Stars were only able to score 122 runs, the bowlers for Sydney Thunder dominated. Still, the Stars got off to a great start with the help of Trent Boult, who took two quick wickets in the first over.

Even though Boult did a fantastic job with the ball, the first wicket really went to Brody Couch on the field, who took a spectacular acrobatic catch at a short fine leg position.

In the second over, Matthew Gilkes attempted to flick a leg stump delivery towards fine leg, but Couch, who was fielding at short fine leg, tried to take a low catch, but the ball flew out of his fingers and went airborne. The fielder was able to flip over while keeping his grip on the ball. It was an outstanding catch, the best catch of the season so far.

Watch the Video here:

Trent Boult had a stellar outing since he not only had an effect in the wickets column but also delivered an economical spell, finishing his four overs with 2 wickets for 21 runs at an economy rate of 5.3. His efforts with the bat and ball weren’t enough to save the day for the Melbourne Stars, as they lost by a single wicket.

In a nail-biting contest with few runs scored, the Stars were held to 122/8, and the Sydney Thunder secured the victory on the very last ball of the game.
