STR vs SIX Prediction: The second match of the Big Bash League 2022 will have Sydney Sixers take on Adelaide Strikers on Wednesday at Adelaide Oval Cricket Ground. The Adelaide Strikers impressed one and all last season.
Adelaide Strikers Preview:
Impressive performances in the group stage helped them reach the Challenger match. However, they couldn’t play in the final of the tournament. They would be looking to go one step up ahead this time around.
The Strikers have a pretty good batting unit. Travis Head, one of the key batters in the squad, will take some time to join the squad as he is currently on international duty. Besides him, they have got the likes of Chris Lynn, who is the highest run-scorer in the tournament’s history.
Colin de Grandhomme is another batter who will have the responsibility to do the bulk of the scoring. Matt Short is one more batter from their squad to watch out for. He was the second-highest run-scorer for the Strikers last season, amassing 493 runs at a strike rate of 155.52.
With the ball, the Strikers have a lot of experience up their sleeves, having got the likes of Peter Siddle, Adil Rashid, and Wes Agar to name a few.
Sydney Sixers Preview:
On the other hand, Sydney Sixers are one of the strongest units in the competition. They have had an outstanding run in the last few years. They were the runners-up last season and would be keen to win the title this time around.
The Sixers’ squad boast a lot of experience. The presence of Sean Abbott, Jackson Bird, Dan Christian, Hayden Kerr etc. should keep the team in good stead.
James Vince has been added to the squad and his presence will only bolster their batting unit. As far as spin is concerned, Nathan Lyon will be sharing the duties will Todd Murphy and Afghanistan spinner Izharulhaq Naveed.
Chris Jordan will be a key bet in the pace department alongside Sean Abbott and Ben Dwarshuis.
