STR vs STA: Adelaide Strikers will take on Melbourne Stars in the 23rd match of the Big Bash League 2022 on Saturday at Adelaide Oval ground. The Strikers started off wonderfully with three consecutive wins.
However, they have suffered defeats in their last two matches but still find themselves at number three on the table with 3 wins in 5 matches.
Adelaide Strikers suffered a 3-wicket defeat in their last match against Perth Scorchers. The Strikers could only manage to score 133 runs in their first innings in that game.
The likes of Darcy Short, Lynn, Adam Hose, and de Grandhomme were guilty of not converting the start into big scores.
The fans would be hoping for a better performance from them in the next game. In reply, the Perth Scorchers chased down the score in 19.1 overs. For the Strikers, the likes of Mathew Short, and Henry Thornton picked two wickets each.
On the other hand, Melbourne Stars are languishing at second from the bottom of the table. The Stars have only managed to win 1 match this season out of five.
Glenn Maxwell’s absence is hurting them badly this season. They are coming into this game on the back of three consecutive defeats. Perth Scorchers beat the Stars by 6 wickets in their last match.
Stars scored 135 runs in 20 overs in the first innings. Joe Clark (33 off 30) and Cartwright (36 off 32) were the only ones who showed fight with the bat.
The Scorchers, in reply, chased down the score in 17.3 overs, thanks to another brilliant knock from Ashton Turner. For the Stars, Luke Wood picked two wickets for 29 runs.
The Stars have a brilliant bowling attack but their batsmen need to step up to the plate if they are to make a turnaround in the tournament.
