STR vs THU: Adelaide Strikers continue their dream run in the Big Bash League 2022 as they registered their third consecutive win on Tuesday. The Strikers beat Sydney Thunders by 6 wickets to continue to be at the top of the ladder.
Ales Hales put in an exhibition of fours and sixes as he played a sensational knock of 68 runs in 50 deliveries, including 6 fours and 3 sixes. Oliver Davies also made a valuable contribution of 42 runs in 30 balls, including 2 fours and 1 six.
Thanks to those two contributions, Sydney Thunders managed to score 150 runs in the first innings. For the Strikers, both Thornton and Colin de Grandhomme claimed two wickets apiece.
An easy chase for the Strikers
In reply, Adelaide Strikers chased down the score pretty easily in 18.4 overs with 6 wickets in hand. Jack Weatherald got out cheaply for 7 runs in the 3rd over.
Chris Lynn and Mathew Short then joined forces and the duo stitched an 83-run partnership for the second wicket. Chris Lynn played as second fiddle, while Mathew Short played a sensational knock of 65 runs in 44 deliveries.
McAndrew rattled the stumps of Chris Lynn in the 12th over and also had a Short leg before in his next over to give his team some hope of coming back into the game. However, Adam Hose guided the team home comfortably with an unbeaten knock of 28 runs in 20 deliveries.
For the Thunders, Nathan Mc Andrew was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 2 for 25 runs in 4 overs, while Gurinder Sandhu claimed one. Thunders have suffered their third consecutive defeat and thus, are languishing at third from the bottom of the table.
Sydney Thunder has one win in four matches and would be desperate to come back to winning ways.
