Sunrisers Hyderabad finally registered their first win of the season after defeating the table-toppers Delhi Capitals by 15 runs.

David Warner and his men toppled the table-toppers as Rashid Khan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar combinedly took 5 wickets.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar took two wickets as he removed Delhi opener Prithvi Shaw and the dangerous looking Shimron Hetmyer in his spell.

After winning the toss, Shreyas Iyer decided to bowl first. David Warner and Jonny Bairstow opened the innings and built a partnership of 77 runs for the first wicket.

Skipper David Warner scored 45 runs while Bairstow piled 53 runs and gave a good start to Hyderabad’s innings. Later, Kane Williamson scored 41 runs off 26 balls and played a significant role in taking the team total to 162/4 after 20 overs.

Amit Mishra finished with 2/35 in his spell of four overs and also became the second-highest wicket taking spinner in IPL. He was the most successful bowler for Hyderabad as he dismissed David Warner and Manish Pandey in his spell.

Delhi Capitals had a slow start and also lost the wicket of Prithvi Shaw in the first over. The side failed to match the required run rate in the entire innings with a below average performance from the middle order.

In the end, Kagiso Rabada went on the attacking mode and scored 15 runs off 7 balls but failed to take the side towards victory.

In a nutshell, Hyderabad bowlers overwhelmed the Delhi Capitals batsmen and won the game by 15 runs and also registered their first win of the season.

Rashid Khan became the player of the match for his match-winning spell of 3/14 in four overs. Sunrisers Hyderabad will next meet Chennai Super Kings in their next matchup on October 2 in Dubai.
