The much-awaited 6ixty tournament is all set to get underway as the fans are excited to watch a truncated version of the game. For the unversed, the tournament will run from 24th August to 28th August 2022. Warner Park in St. Kitts and Nevis will stage all the matches of the tournament.

Besides, it will feature men’s and women’s teams competing in a new set of playing conditions. The tournament will have different rules as opposed to the T20 format of the game. Here’s a look at some of those.

Rules of the 6IXTY Tournament

Instead of 10 wickets, the batting team will have six wickets. The team will be declared all out if they lose their sixth wicket.

Each batting team will have two power-play overs. However, the batting team also have the luxury to unlock the third power play by hitting two sixes in the first 12 deliveries.

As many as 30 balls will be bowled from one end. The next third balls will be bowled from a different end.

If a team is unable to bowl their overs within the allotted period of time then one player of the team will be removed from the field for the final six deliveries.

Fans will have the luxury to vote for the timing of a ‘Mystery Fan Ball’ where a batter can’t be dismissed by the bowler.

Where to watch?

The tournament won’t be broadcasted live in India. However, Fan Code will be providing live streaming on their app. The two semi-finals will have a 7:30 PM IST and 10:00 PM IST start. The final of 6IXTY will kick off at 3:00 AM IST on August 29.
