The Hundred 2022 Women: London Spirit Women put on an outstanding all-round performance on Wednesday to beat Welsh Fire by 8 wickets on Wednesday. Scutt bowled brilliantly as she picked two wickets.

F Davies was the pick of the bowlers as she picked three for Spirit, while Kerr claimed two as well. Thanks to those outstanding bowling spells, London restricted Welsh fire to just 119 runs in the first innings.

Welsh Fire started pretty well as Sarah Bryce and Beaumont had added 46 runs in 31 balls. However, when that partnership got ended, wickets kept falling at regular intervals and they never got going.

In pursuit of the score, Beth Mooney and Danielle Gibson put on a stellar 66-run opening partnership in just 48 deliveries. Gibson got out after scoring 34 runs in 27 balls, a knock which was laced with 5 fours and 1 six.

It was Lauren Filer, who broke the partnership. However, Beth Mooney, at the other end, wasn’t in a mood to get out as she stayed unbeaten right till the end.

Beth Mooney scored unbeaten 61* runs

Mooney played an unbeaten knock of 61 runs in 39 deliveries, including 11 fours. Sophie Luff, contributed 12 runs in 13 balls, while Kerr stayed unbeaten on 9 off 8 deliveries.

With that, London Spirit has now registered their second win of the tournament. They would look to end the winning streak ahead of their next game against Oval Invincibles.

Welsh Fire, on the other hand, suffered their sixth straight loss in the tournament. They now have six losses in six games and thus are languishing at the bottom of the table. They now have two games left and would be hopeful of finishing the tournament on a winning note.
