The Hundred Draft 2022: The draft for the men’s Hundred took place on Tuesday morning, with the eight teams making 42 picks (17 overseas, 25 domestic) amongst them to complete the core of their squads.
Kieron Pollard, the first pick of 2022 becomes a part of London Spirit. The team further extends to Liam Dawson, Glenn Maxwell, Eion Morgan, and Riley Meredith. Jordan Thompson, Mason Crane, Dan Lawrence, Daniel Bell- Drummond, Chris Wood, Adam Rossington, Ravi Bopara, Blake Cullen, Brad Wheal, Zak Crawley, Mark Wood.
Adam Zampa, David Miller, Naseem Shah being the overseas player are part of the Welsh Fire along with Joe Clarke, Tom Banton, Ben Duckett, Jake Ball, Sam Hain, Leus du Plooy, Matthew Critchley, Ryan Higgins, Jacob Bethehll, Josh Cobb, Johnny Bairstow, Ollie Pope.
Manchester Originals go for Andre Russell, Wanindu Hasaranga and Sean Abbott as their overseas picks for 2022, while Laurie Evans is selected at the top price bracket followed by Phil Salt, Matt Parkinson, Daniel Worrall, Jamie Overton, Tom Hartley, Tom Lammonby, Colin Ackermann, Wayne Madsen, Fred Klaassen, Calvin Harrison, Jos Buttler, Ollie Robinson.
Northern Superchargers’ pace attack will be taken care of by T20’s leading wicket-taker Dwayne Bravo and Pakistan fast Wahab Riaz for this season. While Bravo and Adil Rashid are the highest-paid the team further constitutes David Willey, Adam Hose, and Faf du Plessis. Harry Brook, Brydon Carse, Matthew Potts, John Simpson, Roelof van der Merwe, Adam Lyth, Luke Wright, Callum Parkinson, and lastly Ben strokes.
Teams will get two additional wild card picks in which they can pick one local and one international player. The hundred 2022 edition will start on 3rd August and will end on 3rd September. Total of 34 matches will be played in this tournament including the finals.
