THU vs HUR: The 22nd match of the Big Bash League 2022 will have Sydney Thunder take on Hobart Hurricanes at Lavington Sports Oval in Albury on Saturday. Sydney Thunder is currently sitting at number five on the table with 3 wins in 6 matches.

Sydney Thunder

Thunders would be brimming with confidence as they are coming on the back of two consecutive wins. Their last match saw them beat Brisbane Heat by 11 runs.

Thunders didn’t make the best of the starts as Hales (9 off 11) got out early. Mathew Gilkes played an uncharacteristic knock of 37 runs in 35 balls. However, Thunders changed gears after Gilkes got out in the 14th over.

Ross and Daniel Sams put in an exhibition of fours and sixes as Sydney Thunder scored 82 runs in the last 37 balls. Ross amassed 25 runs in just 12 balls, while Daniel Sams played an outstanding knock of 36 runs in 15 deliveries.

Thanks to those two valuable contributions, Sydney Thunder managed to score 182 runs in the first innings. They, later, restricted Brisbane Heat to 171 runs in the second innings, thus winning the game. Nathan McAndrew starred with the ball, picking four wickets for 32 runs in 4 overs.

Hobart Hurricanes

On the other hand, Hobart Hurricanes are third from the bottom with 2 wins in 4 matches. Hobart is coming off an 8-run win and would be looking to continue the winning momentum.

The Hurricanes didn’t bat well as they were bundled out for just 122 runs in the second innings. Neesham top-scored with the bat, amassing 28 runs in 19 deliveries. Nathan Ellis too chipped in with 18-ball 21.

However, they bundled out the Renegades for just 114 runs in the second innings, thanks to a combined bowling effort from the team. Riley Meredith and Shadab Khan picked three wickets each, while Joel Paris and Patrick Dooley picked two apiece.

Both teams are coming off a win and would be keen to maintain their winning run.
