Vitality T20 Blast: County Cricket team Kent Spitfire on Wednesday signed Afghanistan spinner Qais Ahmed for T20 Blast and two county championship matches.
Qais Ahmed is a household name in the franchise cricket tournament held across the world. He has appeared in the Afghanistan Premier League (APL), Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Pakistan Super League (PSL), Australia’s Big Bash League (BBL), and the Lanka Premier League (LPL). He boasts of a bowling average of 21.28 and an economy of 7.5. Ahmed has 77 wickets in 67 matches. Besides, he also has a half-century to his name with a strike rate of 126.46.
On joining Kent, Ahmad said: “I’m excited to play in the Vitality Blast and I’m really looking forward to being a Kent Spitfire.
“Having played alongside Daniel Bell-Drummond at Colombo Kings, I have heard good things about Kent and I will give it my all.”

The Afghanistan spinner has played one Test and one T20 international for Afghanistan. After making his debut for Afghanistan in Test Cricket, he became the 16th player to play in the longest format for Afghanistan. Besides, he has 68 wickets to his name in 12 games in first-class cricket at an average of 20.51.
