Pakistan’s bowling coach Waqar Younis feels that only one brand of ball should be used in the longest format of the game across the globe. The former bowler urged the International Cricket Council (ICC) to take a step on his suggestion.
While the other Test cricket giants including Australia prefer Kookaburra while sub-continent nations including India go with the SG balls. But Waqar Younis personally feels the use of Dukes balls in the Test cricket.
He also said that regardless of the brand, the ICC should take a firm call as the bowlers face difficulty in using different types of balls when playing globally.
“I have been a big advocate of the Dukes ball for many years but I feel that only one brand of the ball should be used around the world for Test cricket,” Younis expressed his opinion in a column.
“It doesn’t matter which brand but the ICC should make that decision. It’s hard for bowlers to adjust to using different types of the ball when they play around the world,” he added.
Recently, Pakistan concluded their Test and T20I series against England, also marked their comeback in the international cricket. They lost the Test series by 1-0 while drawing the T20I series by 1-1 against the in-form England.
