Welcome back to Mad Over Cricket’s live blog where you’ll find everything about live scores, updates, and much more. West Indies vs England marks the resumption of international cricket after the Covid-19 pandemic break. The match being played in a bio-secure environment, today is Day five of the first Test between the two teams.

In this thrilling West Indies vs England, the Windies need 169 runs to win the first Test.
Well, the day 5 came with some surprises of its own. Our whole cribbing about yesterday’s pitch and bowling practices went all in vain after what we saw in front of us – Jason Holder breaking a 98-run partnership with England captain Ben Stokes’ wicket and setting England on a slide. The hosts went ahead to lose five major wickets in 30 runs, with Shannon Gabriel and Alzarri Joseph running them ragged.
But before you think ahead, there’s still two wickets to be taken. Over the years, England have shown that their tail-enders can be more than handy.
Currently, West Indies have lost three wickets for just 35 runs in 15 overs.

John Campbell retired hurt after being hit by an Archer yorker on the boot first-ball, and it’s done some damage. He received some treatment on the field but then limped off, shoe off his right foot.
Now Brathwaite is gone. Slips in the fuller nip-backer after a series of back of length balls and he’s got Brathwaite inside-edging onto his stumps. Looks in some decent rhythm here, does Archer. West Indies have effectively lost three quick batsmen for now.
And oh, Brooks goes to Archer too! Short, short, and then full and straight on the stumps. Plumb. Brooks doesn’t even think of a review there. Archer’s doing everything right here. He’s got the pace and the rhythm.
Mark Wood to Shai Hope, and bowled! The Windies lost Hope in 11.4 overs as the batsman tried to defend, got a thin edge, took the thigh pad and knocked out of the off stump.

West Indies under some serious pressure! The lead now stands at 170 and West Indies would ideally like to keep it at that. At worse, nothing more than 200.
Twitteratis took to the social media platform and said some interesting things about the Live match. Have a look:
Vishal says: Here is the litmus test for England’s Experiment. A wicket with neither much pace or spin. No Broad and Anderson will have to play the holding role as you can’t give runs easily Stage is up for Wood, Archer and Bess. #RaiseTheBat #ENGvWI @prat1204

While Vasu Goyal is of an opinion that the Englishmen will swiftly take away the first Test: Still think England going to win this. 200 will not be an easy task by any means. #WIvsEng What’s say @prat1204
