ZIM vs AFG: Zimbabwe announced their 15-man squad on Friday for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Afghanistan at home. The series will begin on 11th June. Opening batter Tadiwanashe Marumani makes his return to the team. The Zimbabwe cricketer missed out it the series against Namibia and wasn’t part of the ODI series against Afghanistan either.
The young cricketer has represented Zimbabwe in 11 T20 internationals so far and has managed to score 118 runs. The T20Is help Zimbabwe prepare for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifier B 2022, which will help them in qualification for the main tournament, which will be held later this year.
As far as the series is concerned, the first T20I will be played on 11th June, followed by the 2nd and 3rd T20I on 12th and 14th June respectively. Both Afghanistan and Zimbabwe locked horns with each other earlier in the ODI series. Afghanistan beat Zimbabwe 3-0 in the series, winning the first, second, and third game by 60 runs, 8 wickets, and 4 wickets respectively.
Craig Ervine will continue to lead the Zimbabwe team in the T20 series. The team further consists of the likes of Ryan Burl, Regis Chakabva, Tendai Chatara etc.
